WOOD MOUNTAINS
My client saw an Instagram post featuring a piece of artwork that was a giveaway. She asked me to recreate the piece since she missed the giveaway deadline, buying it would be $400, and the original one being much larger and heavier than she wanted. I was excited to get hands on with this project.
Working from just a screenshot, I calculated the angles of the cuts and their lengths. I drew it out on an 8.5x11" piece of paper so I could reference it while making the piece, making sure every angle was correct and the lengths were properly scaled so that the final version was 4x2'. I labeled each drawn out piece on my reference paper and labeled each corresponding wood piece. With over 50 individual pieces, I had to make sure I was cutting the correct pieces and putting them in the correct order. After putting it all together I stained the correct pieces without getting any incorrect stain on any of the pieces.
